24 May Electrostatic Powder application process
The process of applying electrostatic powder to metal containers begins by absorbing the powder from a fresh powder reservoir and storing it in a smaller intermediate reservoir. It then flows into a third, even smaller reservoir that sends it to the application arm. In the application arm, a negative voltage statically charges the powder particles (8-30KV), causing them to adhere to the container.
To delimit the application, sealing skirts are used that form a perfect strip of powder covering the weld. After application, a suction system recovers the excess powder and sends it to a recycling unit for reuse.
In summary, the process involves absorbing the powder, statically charging the particles and applying them to the container using sealing skirts to delimit the application area. The excess powder is then recovered and recycled for reuse.
